Recently
we bought two copies of your little book, "Healing
and Holy Communion". We both read it and were challenged
by it, especially regarding you saying that most Christians do not
spend enough time waiting on the Lord during the Communion time. We decided
the ideal place to "wait on the Lord" during a Communion
Service would be in the House of Prayer setting, where we have no
set agenda from night to night. So last Tuesday we held a
Communion Service. Peter read portions of Scripture, especially
Isaiah 52 (latter part) and Isaiah 53, reading and re-reading
those beautiful, wonderful words. Then we worshipped for a while
and invited the Lord to interact with His people. The Presence of
the Lord was so rich and precious. It is easily the most
significant Communion Service we have ever been part of. As we have
continued to wait on the Lord during this week, several dear
people have come under conviction, and acknowledged things they
needed to put right in their lives. And last night a brother
acknowledged a 22-year addiction to marijuana, and appealed to us
all to pray for the addiction to be broken. We are
prompted by the Holy Spirit to continue being available for the
Lord to COMMUNE with. Thank you
for having the courage to write the book and to ask the hard
questions. With
grateful thanks and love Julia and
Peter Martin (Gisborne, New Zealand). Letter
received the following week . . . The Holy Spirit is continuing to move amongst the group here. We had another Communion Service last night. It's hard to put into words all that occurred. It was as though the dear people were released in various ways. Much prophecy flowed, some were weeping, and some were shaking. One man said he felt it was the first time he was truly set free to worship Jesus. The people didn't want to go home! It seemed the Lord was willing to reveal some things to us that are on His heart. Last week a lady wept aloud for 45 minutes. Eventually she told us the Lord was dealing with her from Isaiah 6, "Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a person of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips." Actually she's a very godly lady, but this is how the Spirit was interacting with her. There's absolutely no hype. We simply set a small table with the emblems, and invite the Crucified One, Who is also the Resurrected One, to be with us. You just want to weep because of His preciousness, and because we have so under-rated Him and marginalized Him - the Great I AM. I wonder what you would think about promoting your little book a bit more??? We believe you've accurately picked up and conveyed the burden of the heart of Jesus. Our Beloved Lord intensely desires to COMMUNE with His people. Love always Julia and Peter |
