WILL YOU RECOGNISE GOD’S SERVANT?
When we are submitted to God, He will frequently use us to speak into other people’s lives. God uses people to speak on His behalf. Are we teachable enough to allow other people to speak into our life? And, if we do not know and serve the Lord Jesus Christ, will we recognise when He sends someone to us with a word from heaven? That word will not be a dead word, weighed down by man’s philosophy and false interpretation, but it will be a word bringing life; a word that fans hope and causes your heart to leap; a word that pierces right through your unbelief because it carries with it the authority and fire of God that will change your life forever, if you will receive it and obey it. Before the Apostle Paul was converted to Christ, he was Saul of Tarsus: a very religious man, doing very religious things, believing he was doing the will of God. On the day that Jesus revealed Himself to him, he was on his way to Damascus with arrest warrants in his hand, seeking to arrest and beat up the people who were confessing that, “Truly, Jesus Christ is the Messiah.” But Jesus appeared to Saul in a light from heaven as he
travelled that dusty road to Damascus, and, as the very One he was
denying spoke personally into his life, the mighty presence of the Lord
caused him to fall to the ground. Saul immediately surrendered his life
to Christ and was instructed by the Lord to “go into the city where it
shall be told to you what you must do” (Acts 9:6). The light from heaven was so bright that it caused
Saul to become physically blind, which was really an outward sign of his
inner spiritual blindness. So
instead of entering into Damascus “with guns blasting,” with the
wrath of religion on his lips, Saul was led like a little child. Indeed, Jesus Christ the Messiah had intervened in his life in
a powerful and glorious way. Saul
never had a moment of doubt after that because, when Jesus, the King of
glory comes, your whole being responds to His presence; your whole
person – body, mind and spirit – is ministered to in a way that goes
far deeper and beyond that which religion can deposit into you. Three days later, Jesus spoke in a vision to Ananias, one of His followers, to “seek out a man called Saul of Tarsus who is lodging in the house of Judas in Straight Street.” Ananias had ears to hear. When the Lord spoke to him, he heard, because his ears were tuned into the voice of his Master. Saul came to town to arrest and persecute people like Ananias, yet God turned everything around and Saul had to submit to the humble follower of Jesus who was carrying the word of the Lord especially for him. When Ananias laid healing hands on Saul, a substance, like the scales of a fish, fell from Saul’s eyes and his blindness immediately disappeared. Saul had been blinded by religious scales that caused him to believe he was walking in truth . . . until the day TRUTH, the LORD JESUS CHRIST, revealed Himself personally to him. And, when the scales of deception and religiosity fell off, he was immediately baptised in the Holy Spirit – a brand new life in Christ had begun!

the salvation He freely gives. Is your heart open to receive from God’s servant today? Jesus will lead you into all TRUTH if you will seek for Him with all your heart. ~ Joan Emery
