WHICH  ROAD?

WHICH  SIGNPOST?

 “I, even I, am the LORD, and beside Me there is no other saviour”(deliverer, one to bring salvation, rescuer) (Isaiah 43:11, KJV).
“I alone am the Lord, the only One who can save you” (GNB).

How often have we heard the expression MANY ROADS LEAD TO ROME?  Yes, probably many times, but the Lord God who created both this universe and mankind, clearly tells us that HE IS THE ONLY TRUE GOD AND THE ONLY WAY (John 14:6; Deuteronomy 4:35).  There are many religious systems vying for our attention, all proclaiming to be ‘the right road’, but, according to The Holy Bible, the Word of the Living God, there is only one path that leads to salvation and eternal life. 

• Just any religious road doesn’t lead to God and heaven!

• Just because it sounds and looks good, doesn’t make it right!

Jesus made a very profound statement in Matthew 7:13-27 that clearly tells us that the right road is not found by the masses; it is not a broad road.

“Go in through the narrow gate, because the gate to hell is wide and the road that leads to it is easy, and there are many who travel it.  But the gate to life is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard, and there are few people who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14, GNB).

“Don't look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with sure-fire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don't fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life--to God!--is vigorous and requires total attention” (The Message).

• What signpost are you following?

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but within are ravening (savage) wolves.  By their fruits ye shall know them.  Do men gather a bunch of grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?  So every good tree produces good fruits, but the worthless tree produces bad fruits” (v15-17, Darby).

• Are the fruit your life is producing good, or do they bear the teeth marks of a savage wolf?

“These words I (Jesus Christ) speak to you … are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock” (v24, The Message).

• Jesus said, “I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE.  No one can come to God the Father unless they come through Me” (John 14:6).  

Let’s put that even more simply.  Jesus was clearly saying that He is THE ROAD; He is the One to follow.  He is the One who is TRUTH so don’t look for THE TRUTH in another system or another person or deity.  He is the One who gives us LIFE, both in this world and the one to come.

• Jesus said, “I am THE LIGHT of the world:  he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have THE LIGHT of LIFE” (John 8:12).

• Have YOU accepted Jesus Christ as THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE?

• Are YOU following Jesus, THE LIGHT of the world?

• It is the MOST IMPORTANT DECISION YOU WILL EVER MAKE IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE.  MAKE IT TODAY.
