The Word’s Out – It’s Time To Leap!

Here we are again, into another New Year – and it’s a Leap Year. I wonder what spiritual significance we can place upon the word ‘leap?’

As the world leaps madly on, each citizen pursuing his/her own goals, or struggling severely just to survive, the time must have come for the citizens of heaven to leap for joy.
“Look at them (the Lord’s mighty army) leaping along the tops of the mountain!” (Joel 2:5 – TLB).

Excuse me . . . is that old prophet talking about us??!

Jesus said, “What happiness there is . . .

For you who are poor, for the Kingdom of God is yours;

For you who are now hungry, for you are going to be satisfied;

For you who weep, for the time will come when you shall laugh with joy;

When others hate you, exclude you, insult you and smear your name because you are Mine!

When that happens, rejoice! Yes, leap for joy! For you will have a great reward awaiting you in heaven. And you will be in good company – the ancient prophets were treated that way too” (Luke 6:20-23 – TLB).

This is not a time in God to be confined and restricted, for God’s Word is never bound by earthly limitations. May 2004 be the year we leap out of our “spiritual wheelchairs” to partner with the Holy Spirit
