RISE AND BE HEALED!

When God made man, He made us body, soul (mind) and spirit.  Our body can be clearly seen; our mind can be clearly related through our words and actions, but our spirit is hidden away in the depths of our being.  However, make no mistake about it, we have a spirit and it is very, very much a part of who we are in life.  People can easily suffer from a wounded (afflicted, broken) spirit, which can clearly be seen upon their countenance.  A wounded spirit can consume us and its effects can spill over into every area of our life.  But there is one Person who can heal us of a wounded spirit – His name is Jesus.

Jesus came “to set the captives free, to heal the brokenhearted” (Luke 4:18) because He wants us whole and healthy – that means whole and healthy in body, soul and spirit.  How often we grapple with sickness in our body and then become well again.  How often we wrestle with our mind when it “runs away with us!” but Solomon said something about our spirit - a wounded spirit - that is very challenging . . . “A man's spirit will sustain him in sickness, but a crushed spirit, who can bear?” (Proverbs 18:14, HNV).

Many people are suffering in life because their spirit has been crushed.  Take a look around you and observe.  Do you see there are people who have “walls” up around their lives?  Do you see there are people who are overly sensitive to what may seem to you a simple matter?  A wounded spirit will cause people to grieve and isolate, robbing them of the vital interaction they so desperately need with other people.

If you are carrying a wound in your spirit, surrender it to the Lord.  Ask Him to wash away the hurts and restore a right spirit within you.  Pray the prayer of David . . .  “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew (rebuild) a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10, MKJV).  David prayed this prayer because he had sinned but we can pray this prayer too, even if we are carrying a wounded spirit through no fault of our own.  If you have a home church or a trusted Christian friend, ask them to pray with you to “break off” the wounded spirit.

  • RISE AND BE HEALED IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

  • RISE TO THAT POSITION OF ABUNDANT LIFE THAT JESUS PROMISED

(John 10:10).
