New - Not Patched Up!

Faith dwells only in a re-created spirit – we are NEW CREATIONS.

“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature ….”

The Bible teaches that when we accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord, He does a wonderful work of grace in our life; He transfers us from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. This means that there’s no night when we walk in the light.  Yes, He makes us new creations.  “……old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Imagine for a moment that it could be likened to disposing of the clothes in our wardrobe and replacing them all with brand new garments.  The Holy Spirit needs to work through clean vessels so He re-creates our spirit to be a container of the very presence of God, replacing our filthy rags with His robe of righteousness.  Then, everything that God is – love, peace, kindness, being patient, compassionate, etc. can flow through us to others.  We have

  • Put off the former conversation (the old man);

  • Put away lying;

  • Put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4: 20-25).

  • Put on the whole armour of God so that we can stand against the trickery of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).

So now that we are new creatures in Christ, we don’t have to think of losing or being a loser. We can think victory, see victory and live in victory. We have the potential within us to be what God has ordained us to be.

  • The kingdom of God is very much about priorities.
    God has priorities – He has people’s eternal destinies in mind.

  • Are we walking in that newness of life He offers us so we are co-operating with Him to fulfil those glorious priorities He has for us as individuals and for His Body worldwide?

  • Dare to be that NEW CREATION – reflecting the glorious King of the kingdom.
