The Equipping Station is a vision launched by Rodney Francis as a means to encourage, explore, develop and grow people in the Prophetic Ministry. By Prophetic Ministry we mean cultivating a desire to discern more clearly the voice of God and how it comes to us. We have discovered that the Prophetic Ministry functions directly with ~ and as a result of our hearing ~ the voice of God. The nine Spiritual Gifts of 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 all function, operate and/or are released from us as we recognize the voice of God the Holy Spirit speaking to us. The demonstration of our love to Jesus is our obedience to what He says (John 2:5; John 14:21-24). We have discovered that the Bible from Genesis to Revelation is all about the voice of God speaking to people. The outcome or fulfilment of that word from God is released as a direct result of our obedience to whatever He says to us. If we do not believe Him enough to act upon what He says, then we are limiting, and even stopping God’s promises from being fulfilled in our
lives. We have small groups, prayer and discussion times, questions and answers, so everyone can get involved. Over time we have observed the rising of the discernment level or ability of the people attending. Discernment has been “sharpened” and it is always interesting to see this in
action. Because of the love and accuracy of these sessions, we have requests from around New Zealand for people to come and be ministered to. We also receive requests from overseas to “speak into” the lives of individuals, churches and situations. Even though ~ in most cases ~ those overseas requests are from people totally unknown by all at Equipping Station, we have learned to ask the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom, discernment and revelation as to what to say to those thousands of miles away. An audio cassette tape is made up and posted off to the person(s) concerned. We ask for an honest report and appraisal of the tape to be sent back to us, as it is important that we are accountable for what we declare into the lives of others. The reports to date have been quite amazing as we are told of words, pictures and Scriptures being very relevant to the persons or situation concerned. The Prophetic Ministry has to do with the past, the present, and the future. Often we do not see that until we are able to observe the final outcome of that person or situation we have prophesied into.
The prophetic is helping us to place the voice of the Lord above circumstances, feelings and our own thoughts. We are learning to “have our senses exercised to discern both good and evil” (Hebrews 5:12-14). Together at Equipping Station we seek to learn to respond quickly to the Holy Spirit. Far too often in the past we have been guilty of procrastination and doubt that leads directly to our doing nothing with what we hear! We allow other things to get in the way, or we are far too self-conscious instead of being more God-conscious. Christian Ministry is about letting Jesus speak through us to others, so He can impact them in the way He wants to. One of the encouraging things about Equipping Station is that people tell us it is a “safe environment” in which to learn. They feel safe and, as a result, we get some very honest confessions of where people are at, or where they have been, and of what has held them back in the past, etc.
On the first and third Tuesday of each month people travel from a 100 mile radius to be a part of The Equipping
Station. This is led by Richard Johnstone. Out of these meetings, we have ministry teams that go out (by invitation) around New Zealand and overseas. We conduct a variety of Holy Spirit weekends, Conferences, Schools, International Training Schools, Church meetings, Seminars, etc. The vision is to impact this generation with the Word of the Lord. And . . . The Best Is Yet To Come!
